Lucknow: A tragic incident unfolded in the Talgram area of Kannauj as Satyendra Singh Katheria, a district unit general secretary of the Azad Samaj Party, (Bhim Army) was shot dead by his uncle over a property dispute. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, leading to the victim's immediate transfer to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Additionally, his brothers Sachin and Ankit sustained injuries in the shooting and are currently receiving medical treatment. According to Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand, the dispute arose between Satyendra Singh Katheria's father, Satyapal Katheria, and his uncle, Suraj Pal, concerning a property in Jaisinghpur village. The situation escalated around 7 pm when Suraj Pal, accompanied by associates, arrived at his brother's house. A heated argument unfolded, culminating in Suraj Pal firing a licensed gun at Satyendra Singh Katheria. In response to the incident, an FIR has been lodged by the victim's father against seven individuals, including the absconding Suraj Pal, as reported by Prabhat Gautam, the district unit president of the Azad Samaj Party. Given the heightened tension in the area, authorities have deployed a substantial police force to maintain order in the village. The police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
