Father-son arrested for rape and murder of two sisters

Muzaffarnagar: A man and his son have been taken into custody in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly raping two sisters and then murdering them again. Both the father and son, accused in the case, had been absconding since 2014. Police said in a briefing on Sunday that the two were also rewarded.

Jurisdictional officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said that both the accused and his son Isar were hiding in a village under Ambala in Haryana and were arrested on Saturday. He said, a reward of 20 thousand rupees was declared on both the heads. Since 2014, the police had been searching for both.

In July 2014, two minor sisters were murdered after 12 men allegedly gang-raped them. The court said that a case was registered against all the accused and some of them were declared absconding. Police are now engaged in the search for the remaining absconding accused.
