FIFA World Cup Qatar-2022: Official Countdown Clock unveiled

Doha: The official Countdown Clock for the 2022 Qatar World Cup was unveiled at Doha's Corniche Fishing spot on Sunday evening, marking one year till the major kick-off of the football spectacular.

The uninterrupted loop of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 emblem and the traditional timekeeping tool of the hourglass inspired the curves of the Countdown Clock, both emphasising the event's interrelated nature. The structure is intended to be seen from all sides and to reflect the metropolitan skyline behind it. Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, stated, "I've been involved in the organisation of sporting events for decades, and I've never seen anything like what's going on here. Everything is in place, and the locations will be spectacular. The crowd will have a fantastic time.

"A country and an area will be discovered by the rest of the world. Qatar, the Gulf region, the Middle East, and the Arab world are all part of the Arab world. A gathering area for individuals to congregate and socialise. This is what football is all about, this is what this region of the world and its culture are all about, and the rest of the world will notice.

The Qatar World Cup is taking place in eight stadiums around Qatar from November 21 to December 18, and the major contractor's work on Lusail Stadium, the 80,000-seat venue for next year's final, has been completed.
