Chhattisgarh: Scams of Raman government slowly coming to the fore

In the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, these days, one after the other, during the Raman government, scams are coming out. Another scam has surfaced in this list and the accused of the scam is currently no one else but suspended DG Mukesh Gupta in Raman government. It is alleged that Gupta misused his position and influence in the name of providing medical facilities to the poor and got a grant of Rs. 3 crore from the Government of Chhattisgarh.

Financial irregularity was done by paying bank loan instead of medical facility from the grant amount. The investigation has also revealed the fact that the charitable trust was operated for personal gain keeping the rule of law in view. EOW has lodged an FIR against suspended DG IPS Mukesh Gupta in the case of financial irregularities in MGM, Mikki Mehta Memorial Trust. After the complaint of Manik Mehta, EOW suspended IPS officer Mukesh on the basis of facts revealed in his preliminary inquiry. Gupta, Section 420, 406 of Bhadvi against MGM Chief Trustee Jaydev Gupta and Director Dr. Deepshikha Agarwal , 120 (B) and FIR under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. Significantly, Mukesh Gupta was an influential officer in Chhattisgarh during the BJP rule.

According to the FIR lodged against Mukesh Gupta in this case, MGM Trust has done two crore in 2006 and 2007 in the name of providing free cataract operation to poor, giving special medical facilities to government employees and training of medical staff. One crore rupees were received from the state government. Later the bank loan of the trust was repaid by misusing this amount.
