Fire Breaks Out at Acropolis Mall’s Food Court in Calcutta

KOLKATA: A fire erupted on Friday afternoon at the food court on the fifth floor of Acropolis Mall in Kolkata, causing panic among visitors. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.

According to officials, the blaze started around 12:15 pm in the mall located in the Kasba area. Ten fire tenders were immediately deployed to extinguish the flames. Firefighters, equipped with oxygen masks, have been actively engaged in the firefighting operations.

"There have been no injuries reported at this time. Firefighting efforts are ongoing," stated an official involved in the operation.

This incident marks the second fire-related emergency in Kolkata this week. The incident led to heavy smoke engulfing the entire area, prompting the Kolkata Traffic Police to regulate traffic movement around the mall.
