First English translation of Nepali 'Ramayana' released

Darjeeling, celebrated writer Gokul Sinha translated the Nepali 'Ramayana', written by the 19th century legendary poet Bhanubhakta Acharya in english. Yesterday, the book launched by distinguished author Indra Bahadur Rai at a function.

According to Rai, "Though Bhanubhakta's 'Ramayana' has been translated into other languages, but he had to wait for 200 years to get it translated into English. I congratulate Sinha on taking up this great task."

Adi Kavi Bhanubhakta not only translated the Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali, but also gave a famous rhyme called Bhanubhaktiya laya to the epic.
