Nagpur: A shocking incident of gang rape came to light where it was alleged that four Star Bus conductors allegedly gang-raped a minor girl for over seven months. This incident has created uproar in the city and locals are blaming the Star Bus administration.The 16-year-old victim is studying in a college in Nagpur and would commute via the Star Bus. Dharmapal Meshram, the conductor of bus , became friends with her. He gave a fake name ‘Atul’ to her in order to hide his identity. Later, both of them exchanged their contact numbers. They have been identified as 22-year-old Umesh alias Varshpal Moreshwar Meshram, 22-year-old Dharmapal Dadarao Meshram, 25-year-old Aashish Kashinath Lokhande and 22-year-old Ajay. After this, the accused also told his friends and they raped her. According to the complaint filed by the victim, the accused gang-raped her from July 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019. After seven months of torture, the victim suspected that she was pregnant. During the investigation, a policeman got information that the girl was in Raipur. A police team brought her back to Nagpur from Raipur. During the investigation, the victim narrated her ordeal of the sexual assault. According to the complaint lodged by the victim, police arrested the accused under section 376(2) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
