First phase of Assembly Elections began in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh: The Voting for the First phase of UP Assembly elections began today in the state. For the smooth functioning of the voting, the administration has done preparation and also did the arrangement of videography at the booths.

The voters are casting their votes for the 73 seats. In UP, there are total 403 Assembly seats. The Chief Electoral Officer T. Venkatesh said that in first phase total 2,60,17,128 voters will cast their votes among which  1,42,76,128 will be men while 1,17,76,308 will be women.

In most of the seats, the competition is between Congress-Samajwadi party alliance, Bharatiya Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.
