Beware: Threat to aquatic life due to Ocean Oxygen depletion

Washington: Pollution is increasing day by day, affecting not only human species but also aquatic organisms, while decreasing oxygen content in the oceans around the world threatens the survival of many species of fish and other aquatic organisms. This is happening due to the changes in the environment due to the increase in the temperature of the earth and polluting the nutrients. The IUCN presented this report at a conference organized by the United Nations on the environment. Around 200 countries are participating in the conference.

Climate change becomes deadly, birds shrinking

Executive Director General of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Grethel Guillar, a fall in oxygen levels will destroy and corrupt the marine environment. It will also have an impact on the coastal human population. Therefore, there is a need to start work immediately in order to control the temperature of the earth and consume polluted substances in the sea. If oxygen is exhausted from the sea, it will pose a big threat to the entire human race. Not only marine life, but it will also threaten the life of the earth. The institution has assessed the amount of oxygen at 700 locations in the oceans around the world. In most places, oxygen was found to be less than the prescribed amount.

Experts say that developing countries should be given some more time to reduce the amount of carbon emissions. The Paris Agreement resolved to reduce carbon emissions by 20 to 40% in 5 years. India will make the conference aware of its steps taken for environmental improvement. India took these steps in 2010 under the criteria set for environmental improvement. India also achieved remarkable success in this. In the Paris Agreement signed in 2015, India again took new resolutions for environmental improvement and now it will being implemented.
