Thimphu, Bhutan: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Bhutanese Foreign Secretary Aum Pema Choden led the Third India-Bhutan Development Cooperative Talks, marking a significant milestone in the 13th Five Year Plan. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and reviewing the progress of various development initiatives under the current plan.
In addition to the talks, the two diplomats celebrated the virtual inauguration of 19 newly constructed schools in Bhutan. These schools were built during the previous 12th Five Year Plan period, demonstrating the ongoing commitment to educational development in the region.
Upon his arrival in Thimphu, Foreign Secretary Misri met with Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Foreign Minister D. N. Dhungyel. The meetings were aimed at exploring new avenues to strengthen the already strong bilateral ties between the two nations across all sectors.
Today, Foreign Secretary Misri is scheduled to meet with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan, further solidifying the diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan.
