Former Commonwealth Games gold medalist boxer Akhil Kumar has been re-inducted into the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) discipline panel. Akhil is employed in Haryana Police and is currently ACP in Gurugram. He was earlier a member of this panel from 2017 to 2019.

NADA Director General Naveen Aggarwal told PTI, "This is not related to extending the tenure, he has been re-inducted into the anti-doping discipline panel." Arjuna Award winning Olympians keep his own identity in the All India Games. He was also a government observer of boxing from 2017 to 2019.

Akhil said, 'I was also a part of this panel earlier and I am ready to fulfill my responsibilities as a member again. Whatever responsibilities will be entrusted to me in this role, I will try my best to fulfill it.' Earlier this boxer advocated declaring doping a crime. The NADA discipline panel also includes track and field athletes and Arjuna Award winner Ashwini Nachappa.
