Former CBI officer MCP Sinha arrested, accused of taking 25 lakh as bribe

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested its own former officer in connection with bribery. CBI has arrested its former official NMP Sinha on Saturday. NMP Sinha retired from the CBI service just last month. NMP Sinha, who is a CBI official, along with another person, has also been arrested.

According to media reports, Sinha is alleged to have taken a bribe of Rs 25 lakh in one case. According to the allegation, Sinha had paid a bribe of Rs 25 lakh to influence the investigation into the case. On receipt of the complaint, the CBI had filed a case against Sinha.

However, it is yet to be revealed that any definite information about the bribery case that Sinha has been accused of bribery has not yet been found. NMP Sinha is said to have been the officer on special duty (OSD) of Rakesh Asthana, director of CBI. Rakesh Asthana, a former CBI director, was appointed as the DG of border security force (BSF) just last month.
