Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir gives big statement on India's defeat

New Delhi: Former Team India opener Gautam Gambhir has said that the Indian team will be saddened by the humiliating defeat in Adelaide, but nobody should forget that India was dominating the first two sessions of the First Test. Team India had taken an increase of 53 runs in the first innings in the Adelaide Test, but Australia won the second innings by 8 wickets, including their minimum Test score of 36 runs.

"Team India should remember that they dominated for the first two days," Gambhir said on the star sports show Cricket Connected. The first two days the match was in its grip," said the former batsman, "they will be unhappy about one session, but they have to remember that three Test matches are yet to be played and they do not have their best player and captain Virat Kohli." Gambhir added, "Ajinkya Rahane will be very much interdependent. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami is also not in the squad and will have to see how the team combination remains," said Gambhir earlier, adding that India should take 5 bowlers to the match and Rahane should bat at the fourth. He had also advocated for the inclusion of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill in the last decade.
