On the 30th of March, former Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Surendra Sirsat died after a long illness. Family sources gave this information on Tuesday. As for this, he said that 74-year-old Sirsat had been ill for a long time and was admitted to a private hospital in Mapusa town on Saturday. It has been learned that he died in the hospital on Sunday evening. Sirsat was an MLA from Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP) thrice - in the years 1977, 1989, and 1994. He was the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly from the year 1990 to 1991. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Samvat has mourned his death.
