Amritsar: In a tragic incident in Punjab's Gurdaspur district, four people were shot dead and eight others injured when two groups of villagers opened fire on each other due to an old rivalry, police reported on Monday. The confrontation occurred on Sunday night in Batala's Vithwan village. According to the police, 13 individuals were involved in the conflict between the two groups. Both groups suffered casualties, with two people from each side losing their lives in the shootout. Police have registered an FIR and are conducting further investigations into the incident. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticized the AAP government in Punjab for failing to maintain law and order.
