Lucknow: In a shocking case, a married woman befriended a man on Facebook in Gola tehsil of Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. A few days later, the woman's husband died. When the woman was upset, the same Facebook friend assured her that he would support her. The woman fell into the trap. It is alleged that the man called her to his house and gave her a cold drink mixed with sedatives, then raped her and made a video. Later, when the woman protested, she got married in the temple and he demanded Rs 3 lakh in the name of opening a hospital, when the money was insufficient, the victim sold her jewellery. The woman alleged that the man kept exploiting her for years by convincing her. The victim said the boy had married another woman and thrashed her badly and drove her away. The woman is making rounds of the officers demanding action. There is no hearing. Kotwali in-charge DP Shukla said he was on VIP duty. Action will be taken on the basis of the complaint.
