Kolkata: A petition filed in the Calcutta High Court over the increase in assets of relatives of West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee was heard today (September 6). During the hearing, CM Mamata Banerjee's sister-in-law Kajri Banerjee and other members questioned the admissibility of the case, but in view of the application of the case, the court has asked all the parties to file affidavits. The high court has asked all parties to file affidavits by November 11. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for November 28. Advocate Tarun Jyoti Tiwari had filed a PIL in the high court over the increase in assets of Mamata Banerjee's relatives. The same case has been heard today. Advocate Tarun Jyoti Tiwari had filed the PIL saying that after two years of coming to power, the assets of Mamata Banerjee's relatives have increased a lot since 2013. The petitioner had said in the High Court that CM Mamata Banerjee has 5 brothers. He has great respect for Mamata Banerjee. According to the document included with the writ petition filed, the assets of the family members have been said to have increased drastically from unknown sources. The petitioner had demanded from the court that the Calcutta High Court should order a probe by the Enforcement Directorate, CBI and Income Tax Department into the assets of CM Mamata's kin and relatives.
