Fugitive criminal Nirav Modi will appear again in London court today, bail plea dismissed five times

London: Fugitive Nirav Modi, who is accused of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scandal will be presented in London court today or Monday. Westminster Magistrates' Court of Justice Nina Tempia rejected his bail application and extended his custody till November 11th. So far, Nirav Modi's bail plea has been rejected five times.

Nirav Modi, an accused in the Rs 13,500 crore rigging case related to PNB, was arrested by the London Police in March after the extradition warrant was issued on India's appeal. Nirav Modi has claimed that he is in depression after the bail plea was rejected five times. Nirav Modi had filed a bail plea in a London court against his continued detention and pleaded for custody at home. However, the Westminster Magistrate Court rejected Nirav's plea and extended his custody till 11 November. After which Nirav Modi will have to appear in court again today.

PNB scam accused Nirav Modi was arrested on 19 March from Holborn. There is a charge of rigging of Rs 13,500 crore against Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are investigating this case. Nirav Modi has also been charged under the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act (EFO).
