New Delhi: After facing a crushing defeat in the recent assembly elections (2022), the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet on Sunday to review the reasons for the defeat and discuss the future plan. After the congress' crushing defeat in the assembly elections, several leaders of the party's 'G-21' group had held a meeting on Friday to discuss the future course of action. It is coming to light from the G-21 sources that the group had suggested the name of Mukul Wasnik for the post of President of the Congress Party, but the party high command did not accept it, after which, the group has launched a scathing attack on the high command. According to the group, it said, "The current president, Sonia Gandhi, as you used to run the party earlier, do not remain inactive. We wrote a letter after the Bihar elections, but nothing changed. The party is currently running through KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken and Randeep Surjewala. They are arbitrary. Nobody has any accountability. They themselves have lost the elections again and again." It was further stated that Rahul Gandhi is not the president, but takes decisions behind the scenes. They never come out in the open and don't communicate. On the question of having a conversation, let's say that I don't talk to me, not the president. According to sources in the G-21, if we were made the president outside the Gandhi family, we also suggested Mukul Kwasnik's name, why was it not accepted. We are well-wishers of the party, not enemies.
