Gautam Adani able to replace Jeff Bezos as world's 2nd richest person

Gautam Adani, the third richest man in the world and the richest man in Asia, has witnessed a considerable increase in his wealth recently.

Right now, Jeff Bezos' net wealth and that of the chairman of the Adani Group are more comparable than ever. While there is a discrepancy in net worth as stated by different rich lists, it cannot be dismissed that the wealth gap between Adani and Bezos is just marginal.

The Amazon founder has a net worth of USD 152 billion, while the local industrialist has a fortune of USD 145 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires List, which ranks Bezos in the second position and Adani in the third. This is a difference of USD 7 billion.

Even though USD 7 billion is a huge sum by any standard, it is not as significant as the hundreds of billions that these business titans have collected.

Adani and Bezos have smaller differences, according to Forbes' Real Time Billionaires List. However, according to Forbes, Bezos is at third place while Adani is on the fourth rank.

Adani's net worth was estimated by Forbes to be USD 151.5 billion, compared to Bezos' estimated net worth of USD 151.9 billion.

Bloomberg ranks Mukesh Ambani ninth with a net worth of USD 92.2 billion, while Forbes ranks him eighth with a net worth of USD 95.2 billion.

Last month, Gautam Adani broke into the top three richest people in the world. According to Bloomberg, Adani surpassed Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and CEO of LVMH Moet Hennessy Bernard Arnault to place third. Although they routinely appear in the top 10 of both lists, Mukesh Ambani and Jack Ma have never reached the top three.
