CM Ashok Gehlot said on Wednesday that, Rajasthan is an important centre of tourism with which the livelihood of millions of people is connected. The state government is preparing a new tourism policy to encourage tourism activities. Gehlot said that This tourism policy being brought after nearly twenty years. It will also help to bring back the tourism on track. On Wednesday, Gehlot was reviewing tourism activities through video conference at CM Residence. During this time, Gehlot also interacted with the district level officers of the tourism department and also sought their opinion to speed up tourism. Gehlot told that fairs and festivals are our cultural heritage. He told that, as more and more domestic and foreign tourists can join them, they should be revamped and many fairs including Pushkar Fair, Desert festival, Kumbhalgarh and Bundi festival. Preparations are being made to promote them in a new way. The government wants to strengthen the state's position in the tourism sector by changing the policy.
