Ghana Football Association postpones Premier League for this month

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced to postpone the remaining season of the 2019-20 football season till June due to the Coronavirus crisis. In Ghana, the government has imposed a ban on crowd gathering and due to this, football activities have been postponed from 16 March till further orders in the country.

The GFA said in a statement that in the Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday, it has been decided that the status quo will remain. It was also decided at the meeting that the Sangh will keep an eye on the situation and will review the situation once again on 30 June. Only after this, a decision will be taken regarding the future.

The Ghana Premier League was in its 15th week when it was postponed. The team of Aduana Stars was at the top. So far, 2700 cases of corona have been confirmed in Ghana.
