Gold mine collapses in Indonesia; 11 reportedly dead

Jakarta: Today, a gold mine collapsed in the western Jambi province of Indonesia, which killed 11 people.

According to the local disaster management agency, “the dead miners were buried 50 meters below the collapsed mine, and the heavy rains triggered the incident in Simpang Parit village”.

Search and rescue operations are undergoing, but heavy machinery can’t be used in the operation as there was no road to move towards the site.
