USA: In order to help people stay safe during heat waves, Google is launching a new extreme heat alert in the Search tab. The search engine will show information like the start and end dates of a heat wave when you conduct a search on extreme heat. In the upcoming months, the new functionality will be implemented. Google has been displaying alerts for natural disasters like wildfires, earthquakes, and hurricanes among others for a few years now. The company is now concentrating on reducing the impact of climate change-related events like heat waves. The search results will show all of this related information. To guarantee that the data displayed is accurate, the company worked with the Global Heat Health Information Network. The tech giant disclosed that in July 2022, searches for heat waves peaked. According to Hema Budaraju, senior director of product for health and search at Google, "soon, you will see dedicated features highlighting relevant news and recommended actions and local information during a severe heat wave."
