The government should bring clear policy for electric vehicles. The French car company Renault has expressed this opinion. Sumita Sahni, managing director of Renault India, said that for automobile companies to move towards electric vehicles it is necessary that there is clarity in the policy and preparations are completed at the infrastructural level. Sahni said that besides this, to make the fight against pollution successful, old cars should be removed in a phased manner, so that electric cars can deliver the desired results. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's statement, "Be prepared for auto fuel companies, otherwise they will be eliminated," Sahni said, "Electric vehicle is a future, it has to happen. The question is, how long does it take place." He said that how long will it be to move towards electric vehicles, its deadline will be important. Explaining the need to remove the old vehicles that are spreading pollution in a phased manner, Sahni said, "It can not be that there is an electric car and there is a 25-year-old car which is spreading pollution. In such a situation, the past has to be removed to form a future." When asked if the company is ready to bring electric cars to India, they said that we have such cars in the global portfolio but as far as the Indian market is concerned, we have to mold them according to the local conditions. We are researching and developing it in the center and there is no problem in it. However, he said that before this, there is a clear policy on electric vehicles so that the framework can be exposed in front of the industry.
