In view of the increasing cases of covid and shortage of remdesivir with oxygen, the High Court has directed the Delhi government to give the seized oxygen and remdesivir to the hospital. The court has issued directions to the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Revenue Department, Government of Delhi that the remdesivir medicines and oxygen cylinders seized from black marketeers should be given to the hospital immediately from the warehouse. The court said that instead of making the medicines a case property, they have been made available immediately for treatment of corona patients. A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli issued the directions. He has said that don't lose the effectiveness of medicines by keeping it as a case property.
Investigating officer has to do this: It has been learnt that the court has directed that the investigating officer immediately report the drugs seized from the accused to the DC. At the same time, find out if the drug is real or fake. At the same time, it will be the job of the investigating officers to keep the drug in a conducive environment till it reaches the Corona Health Centres so that it does not get damaged and has reached the needy. The court also said that oxygen cylinders and ramdesivirs purchased from Karabazari should not be seized from patients. They may have bought it in black under a lot of compulsion.
The court told the Central government that delhi is facing acute shortage of oxygen these days. Every day, petitions of the oxygen crisis-ridden fariadis are also coming to the Delhi High Court. While hearing one such case today on Thursday, the court told the Central government that they have to do something or the other. People are dying every day. The Delhi High Court has to say that we are getting many calls, even you (Solicitor General Tushar Mehta) are getting phone calls from people with requests to get beds. The court said that people in Delhi are suffering and many people have lost their lives due to lack of oxygen and the Centre has to be asked to resolve the issues.
