Government takes strict action against China, now a big decision on import duty

New Delhi: India has once again shown strictness on Chinese imports. The government has imposed anti-dumping duty for five years on some measuring tape and parts and components imported from China. This will help control the glut of cheap Chinese goods in the country. Let us know that recently, 20 brave soldiers of our country were martyred in the Huss Khuni struggle on the India-China border, after which there is resentment against China in the country.

The boycott of Chinese goods is going on and the government is also trying to reduce the import of Chinese goods. The government is constantly showing strictness in terms of sugar imports and investment. According to news agency PTI, the investigation branch of the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) had recommended continuation of tax on China imports. After this, anti-dumping duty was imposed on steel and fiber glass measuring tape imported from China. This duty was first imposed on 9 July 2015 for five years. Now it has been extended back for the next five years.

DGTR said in its investigation report that China is continuously dumping these goods in the Indian market. Prices are extremely low due to dumping. If duty is not imposed on them, then they will be bridged in the Indian market. To save Indian manufacturers from these cheap Chinese goods, it has been decided to impose anti-dumping duty.
