New Delhi: There is news of relief on the economy front during the Corona epidemic. Actually, the collection of GST has increased in the month of June. According to official figures, the government has raised Rs 90,917 crore from GST in June. The GST collection was Rs 62,009 crore in May and Rs 32,294 crore in April. The figures for GST collection were not released during the lockdown i.e. in April and May. This is the first time the official figures for these two months have also come out. The official statement said that "GST revenue accumulated in June 2020 stood at Rs. 90,917 crores, of which the CGST of the Center is Rs. 18,980 crore and the state's SGST is Rs. 23,970 crore. IGST has been Rs 40,302 crore (including Rs 15,709 crore deposited on import of goods) and Rs 7,665 crore in cess. "Compared to the June collection in the previous year, there is a decrease of 9%. However, the government has given relief in the deadline for filing GST returns. Returns were filed during June 2020 for April, March and even February. During the lockdown ie in April and May, a big decline in GST collection has been recorded. Compared to a year ago, the collection fell by 72 per cent to 32,294 crores in April, while in May it fell by 38 per cent to 62,009 crores. On a quarterly basis, this time GST collection is 41% less than last year.
