The Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection for April 2022 hit an all-time high of nearly 1.68 lakh crore rupees. In April, the total GST revenue was one lakh 67 thousand 540 crore rupees. The GST collection in April this year was 25 thousand crores rupees higher than the previous high of one lakh 42 thousand 95 crore rupees in March 2022. In April this year, according to the Finance Ministry, the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) collected 33 thousand 159 crore rupees, the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collected 41 thousand 793 crore rupees, the Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) collected 81 thousand 939 crore rupees, and the cess collected 10 thousand 649 crore rupees. GST collections in April 2022 are 20 percent more than in the same month last year. Revenues from imports of goods were 30 percent higher during the month, while revenues from domestic transactions were 17 percent higher than in the same month the previous year. The Finance Ministry announced that gross GST collection has surpassed 1.5 lakh crore rupees for the first time. The total number of e-way bills created in March 2022 was 7.7 crore, up 13 percent from 6.8 crore in February 2022, indicating a faster recovery of commercial activity.
