Ahmedabad: An 80-year-old man who recovered from corona virus committed suicide in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, fearing being infected with black fungus. Police informed about the same on Monday. Let us tell you that black fungus is a serious infection found in many patients with covid-19. According to police, the victim lived with his wife in Aman apartment in Paldi area of the city. Paldi police station inspector J M Solanki informed that the elderly man allegedly consumed pesticide on the roof of his apartment on Thursday and died in a private hospital on Saturday. He said the elderly had been infected with the corona virus some time ago but had recovered from it. He did not have black fungus, but he had blisters in his mouth, after which he was scared. The victim has left a suicide note in which he has expressed apprehension that he may have black fungus, citing the cause of suicide as he has recovered from Covid-19 and has diabetes. Solanki said police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the incident.
