Bollywood's known actress Athiya Shetty always remains in discussions about something. Today, she is celebrating her 28th birthday. She was born on 5 November 1992 in Mumbai to actor Suniel Shetty and director Mana Shetty. While her father speaks from the Telugu Bolat community, her mother was born to a Punjabi Hindu mother and a Gujarati Muslim father. She has a younger brother Ahaan Shetty. Athiya attended the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School and later shifted to the American School of Bombay. While living there, she participated in school plays with Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. At the age of 18, she moved alone to New York City to enrol in the New York Film Academy because she wanted to act in films. Athiya made her acting debut in 2015 in the romantic action film Hero directed by Nikhil Advani, a 1983 remake of co-producer Subhash Ghai of the same name. Produced by Salman Khan and co-written by Advani and Umesh Bisht, the film grossed a total of US 34.82 crores (US $ 4.9 million). She played the role of Mumbai's aspiring dancer Radha Mathur, who falls in love with her kidnapper Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi), who is trying to drive away her police chief's father, IG Srikanth Mathur. For her portrayal of Radha, she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Female Debut. Bollywood Hungama, a leading website in India, wrote that Athiya needed some more time to improve her acting skills. After her debut, she became the brand ambassador of Maybelline's New York Indian franchise and appeared in the Indian editions of high-profile magazines, such as Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar and many more.
