BCCI announces central contract, big blow to Hardik-Pujara and Rahane

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dealt another blow to Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara who were dropped from the Test squad. According to the report, the grades of both the senior players have been changed and they have been demoted. Pujara and Rahane have been sent from Grade-A to Grade-B. At the same time, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been out of the team since the 2021 T20 World Cup, has also suffered a setback. Pandya has been demoted directly from Grade-A to Grade-C.

Let us know that in place of Hardik, at the moment Venkatesh Iyer is playing the role of an all-rounder in Team India and is performing well. Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has also suffered a big loss. Saha has been demoted from Grade-B to Grade-C. Saha, Pujara and Rahane have all three not found a place in the Test squad against Sri Lanka. Pujara and Rahane have not been in form for the last few times. The board announces the Annual Central Contract (BCCI Central Contract) every year between January and April. In the last contract, 28 players were included. However, this time 27 players have been included.

Let us know that the BCCI gives four types of grades to the players in the list of contracts. It includes A+, A, B and C. Each grade has a fixed annual salary per year. Rs 7 crore is given annually to A+ grade holders, Rs 5 crore to A grade, Rs 3 crore to B grade and Rs 1 crore to C grade ones. The three cricketers who were included in the A+  grade in the previous list were able to save their place in this list this time as well. Skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are in Grade A+. At the same time, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Rishabh Pant fall in Grade A. There were 10 players in Grade A last year, which has been dropped to five in the new list.
