New Delhi: A new traffic law has come into force across the country from September 1, 2019. The amount of fine in this law is quite high. Due to which reports of heavy recovery have come from all over the country. In just four days, two states Haryana and Odisha have collected Rs 1.41 crore through challan. Officials said that the earnings of the traffic police have increased significantly. The new law was approved by Parliament on 31 July. The President agreed to the law on August 9 after which it came into force nationwide from September 1. An official of the Road Transport and Highways Department said, "As per information received from the Odisha Motor Vehicles Department, 4,080 challans were deducted for violating the traffic law, which resulted in a deposit of Rs 88.90 lakh. With this, 46 vehicles have been seized. In Haryana, 343 challans were made and Rs 52.32 lakh was collected during this period. On the very first day of the new law coming into force in Delhi, 3,900 invoices were cut. After the enactment of the new Motor Vehicles Act, the police are taking action against those who flouted the traffic rules, but the drivers are seizing their vehicles only after seeing the amount of the challan.
