New Delhi: The country is going to celebrate Republic Day on Tuesday amid ongoing protests against the agriculture law. In view of the farmers' agitation, the Haryana government has now changed its programmes. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and some other ministers have changed the venue. CM Manohar Khattar was scheduled to hoist the flag at Panipat but here the farmers announced their protest. Khattar will now flag off a Panchkula programme instead of Panipat. On the other hand, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala will now flag off at Ambala. Farmers in several districts have announced that no minister or leader will be allowed to flag off, while no officer should unfurl the flag. After Punjab, Haryana is the only state where the farmers' movement is the most aggressive. Earlier also, in Karnal's programme, farmers had opposed CM Manohar Khattar. When the programme was carried out organically on behalf of the farmers, Khattar's helicopter could not land and the programme was cancelled. Apart from Manohar Khattar, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala was also subjected to farmers' resentment. The helipad was uprooted by farmers near a venue.
