Chandigarh: CM Manohar Lal Khattar of Haryana launched the air taxi service from Chandigarh airport to Hisar under the Central Government's 'Udaan' scheme. Speaking on the occasion, CM Khattar said that for the first time in the country, a small aircraft is being used for services as an air taxi. CM Manohar Lal Khattar further said that in the second phase, service from Hisar to Dehradun will be started from January 18. In the third phase, two other routes from Chandigarh to Dehradun and Hissar to Dharamshala will be added on January 23. The company also plans to include Shimla, Kullu and others in the scheme. Four people will be able to board the air taxi from Chandigarh to Hissar. The journey will be 45 minutes. Air taxis can be booked as private taxis, with different rates. An air taxi of Rs 1755 will have to be repaid from Chandigarh to Hisar. This taxi will run through online booking. The air taxi service is being launched by Captain Varun Suhag, son of Beri village in Jhajjar, Haryana. Captain Varun is the nephew of former army chief Dalbir Suhag. His father is Col Rampal Suhag. Captain Varun plans to start air taxi services on 26 different routes in the coming time.
