Chandigarh: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has given another major relief to BPL (BPL) patients in the state who are undergoing treatment for corona infection in private hospitals. CM Khattar has announced that the entire cost of treatment of these patients will be borne by the state government. However, earlier, the state government had announced financial assistance of up to 35,000 to such patients. CM Khattar said this while leading the eighth review meeting of corona management with all district deputy commissioners and administrative secretaries through video conferencing here on Friday. Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala was also present in the meeting while Home and Health Minister Anil Vij attended the meeting from Ambala through video conferencing. CM Khattar said that 'BPL families who are not covered under The Ayushman Bharat Scheme will be eligible for this benefit only and the District Deputy Commissioner should ensure that the scheme reaches the grassroots level'. He has directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure this facility to such eligible patients on priority basis. He said that at present government and private hospitals in the state are already fighting hard against the second wave of corona epidemic, but now the focus should be on making adequate arrangements for the treatment of patients suffering from post-covid problems including monitoring of black fungus cases.
