Haryana hikes DA for state govt employees

Haryana: In accordance with the Seventh Pay Commission, the government of Haryana toay, April 21, announced a 4% hike in state government employees' dearness allowances (DA). 

The dearness allowances would increase from the current rate of 38% to 42% of the basic wage as of January 1, 2023, said additional chief secretary (ACS-Finance) Anurag Rastogi. The arrears from January to March 2023 will be reimbursed in May, however, the additional dearness allowances will be paid with the April payout.

In a separate order, the finance department said that the state government has also hiked the Dearness Relief by 4 percent which is payable to the state government pensioners and family pensioners drawing their pension/family pension as per the seventh pay commission structure.

As per the directive, the Dearness Relief will increase from its current rate of 38% to 42% of the basic pension/family pension as of January 1, 2023. Itis decided that, higher Dearness Relief should be paid along with the pension or family pension in April 2023, and arrears for the months of January through March 2023 must be paid in May.

However, the Delhi government increased the minimum wage for workers in the unorganised sector on Thursday. The new minimum wage rates will go into effect on April 1st, according to a statement from the administration. According to the new rates, the skilled worker's monthly compensation has grown by Rs. 546, or from Rs. 20,357 to Rs. 20,903. The news states that from Rs.18,499 to Rs.18,993, the semi-skilled worker's monthly compensation has grown by Rs.494. The minimum wage for unskilled workers would rise from Rs. 16,792 to Rs. 17,234, an increase of Rs. 442.

The increased minimum wage rates announced by the Delhi government will also help managers and secretaries, according to the statement. According to the updated rates, the monthly salary for the non-matriculated labour force has increased by Rs. 494, or from Rs. 18,499 to Rs. 18,993. According to a statement issued by the Delhi government, the salary for matriculation graduates and non-graduate personnel has increased by Rs. 546, from Rs. 20 357 to Rs. 20 903.

The biggest increase in their pay, by Rs. 598, was made to graduate employees and labourers with higher educational qualifications, whose monthly salaries went from Rs. 22,146 to Rs. 22,744, according to the statement.
