Heavy rain may occur soon in several districts of Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Monsoon is now becoming active in Chhattisgarh. The Met department has recently issued a rain alert in most districts of the state. In fact, rain has been continuing in several districts of the state including the capital Raipur since last night. On the other hand, the Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places in Chhattisgarh in the next 24 to 36 hours. Moreover, the Met department has said that the monsoon of the state will be affected due to the trough from west Rajasthan to north east Bay of Bengal.

The Met department has predicted thunderstorm in about 20 districts. The list includes Bemetra, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Raigad, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Baloda Bazar, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sarguja, Jashpur, Bilaspur, Mungeli and Kawardha in the state including the capital Raipur where rain has been predicted. Many of these districts are said to be getting heavy rain accompanied by thundershowers.

According to the data released by the Government, the state has recorded an average rainfall of 134.4 mm till June 17. Let me tell you that Korba district recorded the highest average rainfall of 23.9 mm and Dantewada district recorded the lowest average rainfall of 52.8mm.
