Heroin worth many crores seized at Delhi airport

New Delhi: Customs ministry officials have seized heroin worth Rs 90 crore from 2 Ugandan women at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. These women came to India as medical tourists. An official statement in this regard has also been issued on Saturday. Where it is learnt that the intervening night of November 12 and 13 came from Nairobi, Kenya via Abu Dhabi. 12.9 kg of heroin has been seized from them. The international value of the seized drug is around Rs 90 crore.

Before being caught, the smugglers along with drugs passed through several national territories, including Uganda, Kenya and India. The heroin was hidden in their luggage for which a special place was made in the suitcase. It further said that the dog squad of the Indian Customs Ministry posted at Delhi airport indicated that there were some drugs by sniffing the luggage of the passengers.

A notice has been issued to a resident of Vadodara in Gujarat in the case. NCB Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede has said that he has recorded the statement of Krishna Murari Prasad, a resident of Vadodara in Gujarat, in the case. He has said that a notice was issued to the consignment Krishna Murari Prasad for investigation. Further inquiries into the case are continuing.
