Hijab issue echoed in Karnataka assembly, slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and anti-national

Bangalore: The assembly session in Karnataka has become an uproar amid the ongoing controversy over the hijab. On Wednesday, there was a heated debate between the MLAs of Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), after which the house has been adjourned till 3 pm for the time being. Talking on the hijab controversy, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah expressed surprise at the silence of the state CM Basavaraj Bommai. He also alleged that the BJP had distributed saffron shawls to the students to wear them to the school.

During the debate, Minister Eshwarappa raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' in the assembly. On this, Congress leader DK Shivakumar raised anti-national, anti-national slogans. After this Eshwarappa told DK Shivakumar that you are out on bail. You went to jail. you are a traitor After the uproar, the speaker of the assembly ordered to switch off all the mics. After this, all the Congress MLAs came to the well and started creating ruckus. Amidst the debate, the proceedings of the assembly were adjourned till 3 pm.

Earlier in the assembly, Siddaramaiah moved an adjournment motion referring to Minister Eshwarappa. Siddaramaiah said that the minister had said that the saffron flag would be hoisted at the Red Fort. Whereas only the tricolor of the country can also be hoisted on the Red Fort. Siddaramaiah said that the minister has despised the tricolor. In such a situation, according to the rule, there is a provision of three years in jail. He said that the Chief Minister should remove Eshwarappa from the post of minister.
