Suddenly explosion! City became crematorium, Hiroshima incident in which 70 thousand people died

Fumiyaki was only 6 years old and was in first grade. Like normal days, on 6th August also she left for school. There was also an elder sister with her. She says, ''We used to clean the school every day before studies. We were doing the same thing that day. Then I looked out of the room.'' Recalling that accident, Fumiyaki said, 'I heard a loud crash. I thought a plane had passed by. I looked out the window. Suddenly a bright white light from the sky was moving towards the ground at lightning speed. Then there was a loud noise. The green trees in front of me were burnt to black.'

At the same time, the cloud of dust was increasing rapidly. The smell of something burning was coming from everywhere. The walls of the school had collapsed. I was screaming loudly for help. Somehow I got out from under the rubble and moved towards the roof. It is hard to forget the scene before me. Dead bodies were scattered all around amidst a cloud of dust. The earth and the sky were burning. I was not wearing shoes that day. I ran barefoot as fast as I could. There was a lot of blood coming out of the legs. In the evening, when the fire all around started to subside, I headed towards the city.

After the blast, people were running here and there to save their lives. Some were going towards the mountain, some towards the river. I also decided to follow my elders and moved towards Futabayama mountain. My face was completely covered in blood. That's why I didn't even know that I had a big cut on my eye. My shirt was red with blood. Poor Hiroshima was scorching from morning till evening. The heat was too much. Fumiyaki further says, I thought my parents were dead. But they were alive. Some people brought me down the mountain and they started searching for my parents. I was not happy seeing them. But in this accident, my elder sister left us forever. My sister was with my mother. Looking at her face, it seemed that she was sleeping peacefully. Even today I do not forget his face. My father was hurt too

The same Fumiyaki Kajiya is now 81 years old and has retired from the post of a school teacher. She tries to tell the story of that horrific tragedy to the people through painting. Ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach accompanied her to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. The atomic bomb that fell on Hiroshima killed more than 80,000 people in one stroke. After that, more than 70 thousand people lost their lives due to radiation. Fumiyaki says- The use of atomic bombs should be stopped along with Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It should not be used for the third time at any cost.
