Two decades old problem of Bru tribe solved, Amit Shah announced this

New Delhi: Taking a big decision, the Home Ministry has resolved the issue of Bru tribes refugia for the last 22 years. Around 35 thousand Bru refugees will be inhabited in Tripura. With this, they will be given financial assistance from the government. All Bru tribes family will be given plot and cultivated land. Along with this, assistance of Rs 5000 will also be provided for the next two years.

Bru tribes will be included in the electoral rolls of Tripura. About 35 thousand Bru tribes were living in Tripura as refugees due to the conflict between Mizo and Bru tribes in Mizoram. In this regard, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that I congratulate everyone that the problem that was there for the last 25 years has been solved. The ethnic tension within Mizoram from 1997 onwards, about 30,000 people were kept in temporary camps. Only 328 families were settled in Mizoram. But since then, all 30 thousand people will be settled in Tripura.

For this, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced a package of Rs 600 crore. Mizoram's CM Joramthanga in Delhi has said that today the Bru leaders have signed an important agreement with the Tripura government and the Mizoram government. This will permanently resolve the burning issue going on for 25 years.
