Home Ministry declares 10 people as terrorists, who work for Hizbul-Lashkar

New Delhi: Amid Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Jammu and Kashmir, his ministry on Tuesday (October 5) declared a total of 10 members of terror outfits Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba and other banned outfits as terrorists under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, at least one of the declared terrorists is a Pakistani, while the rest are people of Kashmiri origin, and all take instructions from Pakistan and commit terrorist acts.

Those declared terrorists include Habibullah Malik alias Sajid Jatt, a Pakistani national, Basit Ahmad Reshi, a resident of Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir, who is currently living in Pakistan, Imtiyaz Ahmad Kandu alias Sajad, a resident of Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir, Who lives in Pakistan, Zafar Iqbal alias Salim, a resident of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, and Sheikh Jamil-ur-Rehman alias Sheikh Sahab of Pulwama. The others declared terrorists are Bilal Ahmad Beigh alias Babar, a resident of Srinagar living in Pakistan, Rafiq Nai alias Sultan of Poonch, Irshad Ahmad alias Idrish of Doda, Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiyaz of Kupwara and Showkat Ahmad Sheikh alias Showkat Mochi of Baramulla living in Pakistan.

Habibullah Malik was the main leader of the terrorists who attacked soldiers in Poonch and was also involved in dropping weapons and communication systems through drones for terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, another notification issued by the Home Ministry said. The notification also states that he had formed a large network of dreaded terrorists and has been associated with Lashkar and The Resistance Front (TRF).
