New Delhi: The 2023 iteration of the saloon has been unveiled in India by Japanese automaker Honda as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the City moniker, with a starting price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The model has been refreshed, and part of the updates include new bumper and grille designs. Two powerful powertrain options support it. The City has always been an important vehicle for Honda in India. The iconic first generation model was the carmaker's introduction to our country in 1998, and the combined sales of all generations have crossed nine lakh units till date. With a muscular bonnet, sloping roofline, raked windscreen, sweptback LED headlights with eyebrow-like DRLs and a redesigned honeycomb-mesh grille with chrome applique, the 2023 Honda City retains the shape of the pre-facelift model. It is flanked by designer dual-tone alloy wheels, black B-pillars, flared wheel arches and ORVMs with indicator mounts. At the rear, wraparound LED taillamps are an option. Transmission options for the updated sedan include 5-speed manual, CVT or e-CVT. The interior of the 2023 Honda City is spacious for five passengers and features a dual-tone minimalist dashboard, premium leather upholstery, an electric sunroof, blue ambient lighting, cruise control, automatic climate control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The saloon includes an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as a semi-digital instrument cluster. Six airbags and ADAS feature keep the passengers safe.
