Bike manufacturer Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have announced that it is starting its production in India in a phased manner. Honda is resuming production at Narasapur plant in Karnataka from May 25. Production will be started in the first week of June in the other three plants of the companies in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana. Honda has also confirmed that 99 per cent of its more than 300 suppliers have got the necessary permission from the local administration to resume work. Honda says its suppliers are in advanced stages of starting production. Sales and service work has started in more than 60 percent of Honda dealerships across the country. The company says that it is adopting a vision to test its entire ecosystem to resume work in a stable and efficient manner. The company has also released a comprehensive manual to resume operations in manufacturing facilities, offices, dealerships, service centers, logistics partners and suppliers' eco systems. All the workers in Honda's plant will follow the precautions like temperature check, social distancing, non-biometric entry and exhaust, face mask. Along with this, Honda will also ensure that the use of hand wash / sanitizer is completed. According to government guidelines, PPE will be used and disposed of. Honda is slowly moving towards a normal work. With which, so far in the month of May 2020, with the service of 2.5 lakh units, 21 thousand two-wheeler units have been sold. Honda asked its dealership to resume work in a phased manner and resumed the dispatch this week. All the reopened sales touch points, including the dealership, are following the government-issued guidelines and protocols and Honda's 'Dealership Operations Rest Manual'.
