Housing society members held to deny flat to Muslim

Mumbai: Police arrested the nine members of a cooperative housing society in neighbouring Vasai town, as they denied a flat to Muslim family.

Later, they were released on bail. The accused were booked under section 295 (A) (hurting the religious sentiments) of the IPC.

According to the police, “a resolution of opposition passed by the society members as one of the existing members of the Happy Jeevan Co-operative Society in Vasai (West) wanted to sell his flat to a Muslim family”.
