‘How did the shooter escape?’: Malala Yousfzai questions Imran Khan

Islamabad: Nobel Laureate Malala Yousfzai asked the Pakistan military and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to explain how her alleged shooter, Ehsanullah Ehsan, had escaped from government custody after he shared a tweet threatening a second attempt on her life.

Yousafzai took to twitter and wrote, "This is the ex-spokesperson of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan who claims responsibility for the attack on me and many innocent people. He is now threatening people on social media. How did he escape @OfficialDGISPR@ImranKhanPTI?”

Ehsan, a former spokesperson of terror outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP, recently wrote on Twitter, "next time, there would be no mistake." Taking note of the menacing post, Micro-blogging site Twitter on Wednesday permanently suspended his account.

Ehsan managed to escape from Pakistan's jail on January 11 last year.  In January last year, Ehsan released an audio message in which he could be heard saying that he has succeeded in escaping from Pakistan's jail. In the audio clip, Ehsan said, "I am Ehsanullah Ehsan. I am the former spokesman of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Jamaatul Ahrar. I had surrendered to the Pakistani security authorities on February 5, 2017, under an agreement. I honoured this agreement for three years, but the Pakistani authorities violated it and kept me in a prison along with my children."
