HP Enterprise Unveils AI Cloud for Big Language Models

LAS VEGAS: Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is making a strategic move into the AI cloud market with the expansion of its HPE GreenLake portfolio. The company aims to provide large language models (LLMs) to enterprises seeking advanced AI capabilities.

HPE has unveiled HPE GreenLake for LLMs as the first offering in a series of specialized AI applications. This expansion will encompass various industries and domains, including climate modeling, healthcare and life sciences, financial services, manufacturing, and transportation. During the recent event, HPE highlighted its commitment to these sectors.

HPE GreenLake for LLMs empowers enterprises to privately train, optimize, and deploy large-scale AI models. This is made possible through an advanced supercomputing platform that combines HPE's cutting-edge AI software with market-leading supercomputers.

Antonio Neri, President and CEO of HPE, emphasized the significance of AI, comparing its impact to that of the web, mobile, and cloud. He stated that the AI market is undergoing a generational shift, offering transformative potential for businesses.

With the introduction of HPE GreenLake for LLMs, organizations can embrace AI to foster innovation, disrupt markets, and achieve breakthroughs. This on-demand cloud service enables efficient model training, optimization, and deployment at scale, while prioritizing responsibility.

HPE has joined forces with Aleph Alpha, a prominent German AI startup, to deliver HPE GreenLake for LLMs. Aleph Alpha brings its expertise to the partnership, providing a field-proven LLM that is ready to power various use cases involving text and image processing and analysis.

Unlike general-purpose cloud offerings that handle multiple workloads simultaneously, HPE GreenLake for LLMs boasts an AI-native architecture. This unique design enables the execution of a single large-scale AI training and simulation workload, maximizing computing capacity.

HPE GreenLake for LLMs is specifically designed to support AI and high-performance computing (HPC) jobs. It can effectively utilize hundreds or even thousands of CPUs or GPUs concurrently. This ensures optimal performance and scalability for organizations with demanding AI workloads.

Orders for HPE GreenLake for LLMs are now being accepted. The company plans to make the service available by the end of this year, starting in North America. Availability in Europe is expected to follow in early next year.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is making significant strides in the AI cloud market with the introduction of HPE GreenLake for LLMs. This expansion aims to provide enterprises across various industries with powerful AI capabilities to drive innovation and achieve breakthroughs. With its focus on private training, tuning, and deployment of large-scale AI models, HPE is poised to transform the way businesses leverage AI technology.
