Huge gaps in NEP 2020, changes needed : Dy CM Sisodia

NEW DELHI": Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Saturday, September 10, said that Changes are required in the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 and "certain dots need to be connected" in the scheme.

Manish Sisodia said in his speech at a programme held by the Delhi Teachers University in New Delhi that all areas of education-related policies, including teacher training, should be considered.

It is also the vision of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that education-related policies are given a 360-degree view, and all aspects, including teacher training, should be included in it, he said. "Changes are needed in National Education Policy 2020. There are some dots that need to be connected in this policy," Sisodia said.

The "Connecting the Dots" programme was held to talk about the 2020 National Education Policy.

NEP 2020 has a "big gap" and "cannot be implemented soon," said Sisodia, adding that 'there is so much gap in the policy, and if f we decide to adopt NEP in Delhi, who will educate the pupils of classes 9 to 12? What will be the quality of those teachers?" Nothing has been addressed about that yet.

Sisodia went on to say   that the Delhi government had given teachers in Delhi "all available facilities" in order for them to be "well-trained."

The Deputy Chief Minister added, "The teaching profession is highly regarded but regrettably not supported in the community. The Delhi government and the Teachers' University are working together, and we have provided all available facilities for teachers to be well-trained.
