New Delhi: South Korean automaker Hyundai has officially introduced its highly anticipated EXTER micro-SUV in the Indian market. After opening bookings in May, the car is now available for purchase. Boasting a futuristic design and a premium interior with cutting-edge technology, including a dual-camera dashcam, the EXTER aims to make its mark in the flourishing micro-SUV segment. Equipped with a 1.2-liter Kappa engine, the Hyundai EXTER offers customers the choice of a CNG variant as well. With the micro-SUV segment gaining significant traction in India, Hyundai is looking to capture a share of the market with the EXTER. The Hyundai EXTER showcases a distinctive design, featuring a clamshell hood, a wide parametric grille, projector headlights integrated into the bumper, H-shaped LED DRLs, and silvered skid plates. Additional design elements include roof rails, blacked-out pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The EXTER is available in six mono-tone and three dual-tone color options. Powering the Hyundai EXTER micro-SUV is a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine, generating 82hp and 113.8Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT variant, while a factory-fitted CNG kit can be opted for as well. Inside the cabin, the EXTER offers a five-seater layout with a blacked-out dashboard, semi-leatherette upholstery, headrests with 'EXTER' lettering, and a multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel. Noteworthy features include a voice-enabled 'Smart Electric Sunroof,' a dashcam equipped with a 2.31-inch LCD display and twin cameras, a digital instrument cluster, and an 8.0-inch infotainment panel with connected car technology support. Safety features comprise six airbags, ESC, ABS, and hill-hold assist.
